BEAST OF PREY – Horror Short

A woman finds herself locked in an isolated cabin with something sinister on the other side of the door.

Beast of Prey is a horror short that gives hints of a bigger story underneath, which actually makes it feel a bit like a scene from an actual full-length feature film (and making you wish there actually was one). It’s got good production value and manages to create a lot out of just one small location and one character.

LARRY – Short Horror Film

Larry lives behind a window. He can see through the glass. Who will be Larry’s friend?

Larry is a strange and atmospheric little horror short, which builds up a lot of tension and keeps you guessing what’s going to happen next. The ending is a little bit goofy, though, but still unexpected. It was announced earlier this year that Larry will turn into a full length film called Come Play, produced by Amblin Partners, and with Focus Features as the distribution company. It is currently scheduled to be released on October 30th this year (originally it was supposed to be released on July 24th, but due to the pandemic it was re-scheduled to a Halloween weekend release instead).

MINER’S MOUNTAIN – Horror Short

A Sheriff comes under fire when two S.B.I. Agents question his involvement in an unsolved murder that shares distinct similarities with a recent homicide.

Miner’s Mountain was written, produced, co-edited and directed by Bennett Pellington, and was made over the course of 6 years. The result is a high quality horror short filled with atmosphere. It would have been awesome to see this turned into a full length film!

SKULD (GUILT) – Horror Short

A nurse is taking care of an elderly dying woman on a small island near Torshavn. An old repressed memory of the island resurfaces to haunt the nurse and, as the elderly lady’s health deteriorates, so does the sanity of the nurse.

One of the longer horror shorts we have listed here on Horror Ghouls, but well worth watching! Skuld is creepy and atmospheric, with great cinematography.

GIRL IN THE HALLWAY – Horror Short

Why does ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ give Jamie nightmares? It’s been 15 years, and the girl in the hallway haunts him still. This is a testament to locked doors. A lullaby sung by wolves with duct tape and polaroids. Not all girls make it out of the forest. Some stories children shouldn’t hear.

Girl in the Hallway is an animated horror/drama short directed by Valerie Barnhart. Made in a variation of animation techniques it’s quite mesmerizing to watch. Based on a true crime story and performed by Jamie DeWolf (you can see the video of the original “Snap Judgement” performance here) it’s both creepy and heartbreaking at the same time.

“3RD EYE” CULT MURDERS – Horror Short

It’s 1975, and an investigator enters a house, filming while he walks through the murder scene. The murders were committed by a cult calling themselves “3rd Eye”.

This horror short, made by the “Midnight Video” team, is presented as a “crime scene footage”, and it was actually made during quarantine. Much like several of their other horror shorts (like for example Mikus and Your Date is Here), it’s simple, yet very effective.
